It was a six days week this time and in spite of low attendance we pulled the week through. Though it was a bit difficult to continue what we were doing in UOI with our current theme on "Where We Are In Place and Time" focusing on 'Heritage'. We still managed to solve some picture puzzles of the different heritage places in Hyderabad and predicted about the place with the help of a few questions. Students came up with their understanding of what heritage means to them?
We also did some interesting learning engagements in English and Maths. Students enjoyed their visit to Ms. Robin's place in order to meet her pets- Ziggy, the dog and King Louis, the cat. Post which the students were guided to create a story around them using those pets as characters.
Hope you all to have a great week ahead...………..

In Maths, we progressed with solving questions related to Multiplication using varied strategies and with the help of different manipulative. We also learnt a new tool to represent data called the 'Carroll diagram'. We also observed the patterns around us and illustrated them. Students shared their observations in a larger group and discussed about the different types of patterns including growing, shrinking, repeated and random patterns.
On the day of 'Super Saturday' we had fun activities related to Maths where students had fun measuring the grass patch and sand pit using non-standard units of measurements - woollen strings and foot steps followed by standard units of measurement- rulers, measuring tapes, meter rulers and so on. They also measured the width of the tree using palm spaces and their hands and arms followed by measuring it with standard measuring tools provided. They collected natural materials around them and sorted them using the 'Carroll Diagram'.
Also they had four more centers in the corridors of the classroom related to number concepts and problem solving consisting of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. I am sure you will know through the pictures about the amount of play, fun and learning that happened during the week. Happy reading, watching their pictures and commenting :)
Hope you all to have a great week ahead...………..
